Earn Your Stripes

In this day and age, some seem to think simply purchasing a designer clutch or cufflinks means automatic style. Sorry to break it to you, label queens, but it takes more than a platinum AmEx card to swipe your way to the top of the steps. Knowing your style and how to accessorize earns you more style points than frequent buyer rewards – and, in the end of the day, what matters more? An exhausted bank account and credit card points? Or major style and a lovely seat on the ever-so-desirable marble-esque steps?

After class, I headed toward the Main Building at The University of Texas at Austin to take a seat on the steps leading up to the tower. So Blair Waldorf, right? Not really…more like super Central Austin. I don’t know if Central Austin can be compared to the Upper East Side, but hey, I have been channeling some Waldorf wrath after an interesting weekend.

And what’s more Blair than a little gossip? Let’s just say I definitely know how to get what I want, but can I keep it? The answer to that question may arrive a bit later. I don’t care though, because as usual, I’m onto better (and definitely bigger) things.

Despite the chilly air and breezes, a scintillating sun shone and threw some warmth my way. In typical Jonathan fashion, my ensemble lacked designer goods. But, it boasted some eye-catching stripes that’d turn a tiger’s pride into a shameful, embarrassed cry. Bold stripes – this time, in red, white and blue – made a patriotic salute to America and fashion. Finally, the striped scarf accentuated that polished roar…How’s that for earning your stripes?

I would love to see your closet/wardrobe! Is that weird? I love the organization of things. I get excited every time they show Carrie’s closet on Sex and the City. You look great, as always :-)

Maybe I’ll take a photo of my closet for another post sometime! Haha though it’s not even a walk-in so it’s pretty unorganized…thanks so much, I appreciate the comment (:

Blair Waldorf is the best character ever. I want everything she ever wore.
I love you patriotic shirt. You look so bundled up – I always assume it is warm in Texas.

If I were a girl, I would, too! She had major style. And thanks! It was chilly (60 degrees-ish), but the wind chill made it even worse…going out bare-chested wasn’t an option! Thanks for stopping by (:
