Trend: Multicolored Footwear at Pitti Uomo

Men’s Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Week kicked off with the Pitti Uomo menswear tradeshow in Florence. Reonowned photoblogger Tommy Ton was behind the scenes, as usual, and captured an eclectic array of men wearing modern, well put-together ensembles. One popular trend among attendees was wearing multicolored shoes – from dual-toned wingtips and sneakers composed of various tones. Note that socks complement the shoe, with loud prints/bright colors accentuating these stylish items.

I’m not the biggest fan of wearing sneakers outside of the gym, but when super-clean and streamlined, like these New Balances, sneakers add an athletic touch to your outfit. The artsy socks, however, complete this look and add some tasteful flair.

These wingtips are perfection within a shoe – either containing three tones or simply dual-toned, they serve as sophisticated statement pieces from the legs down.

Although not multicolored, the bright socks bring out the richness of these walnut-toned suede shoes.
